the #1 Solution for Saltwater Enthusiasts
What’s a Purple Flag Day?
A purple beach flag means you have a higher-than-normal chance of coming into contact with dangerous marine life (often used to indicate jellyfish). A purple flag can be flown alongside green, yellow, and red flags or used independently. Purple flags do not generally indicate sharks spotted near the shore.
A red flag or double red flags are typically used to indicate when a shark has been spotted or higher than normal shark activity.
Speaking with a lifeguard or beach official (when available) before entering the water is good practice.
ARE THE SEAS BECOMING LESS FRIENDLY?
In recent years, the global jellyfish population has skyrocketed and is expected to continue rising. They arrive unannounced near popular beaches, dive spots, and surf breaks. Jellyfish don’t float through the ocean hoping to ruin your day but for many people, that’s exactly what they do. With their long, semi-translucent tentacles making them difficult to see, 150 million humans are estimated to be stung by jellyfish annually. During the warm months, hundreds of people a day can be stung on any beach, up to 1000 over a busy weekend.
The Purple Flag Day, Marine Life Sting First-Aid kit was carefully developed to address this problem, allowing you to enjoy your time in the sea. This is the most comprehensive cnidaria (jellyfish, fire coral, sea anemone) sting kit manufactured, and packaged in a convenient, multi-purpose, waterproof dry bag.
Benefits of the Purple Flag Day Specialty First-Aid Kit
Simple To Use
The Purple Flag Day, multi-use first-aid kit was formulated using the world’s most respected research and real-life, practical testing.
Our four-step first-aid is easy to follow:
Step 1: Inhibit unfired nematocysts from firing with 5% acetic acid.
Step 2: Remove venomous tentacles from the skin.
Step 3: Flush the affected area with 5% acetic acid again.
Step 4: Shorten discomfort time with a gentle numbing cream.
By having the Purple Flag Day, Marine Life Sting First-Aid kit by your side, you will have peace of mind knowing you’re prepared with the best jellyfish, fire coral, sea anemone, and sea lice sting solution available.
Versatile
As beach lovers, saltwater enthusiasts, and supporters of coastal conservation, we understand the need to pack light and be sustainable. That’s why designing an attractive, long-lasting, multi-purpose package was so important to us.
When you arrive at the beach or boat, you’ll have no more worries about what to do with your car keys, wallet, phone, or hygiene products. Just toss them into our easy-to-carry, 2L drybag to keep them handy, dry, and protected from salt and sand.
In addition, while this product was specifically developed as jellyfish sting first-aid, many people report the successful use of our Numbing Cream on various insect stings/bites.
Convenient
First-aid kits are only helpful if you have them when you need them. Purple Flag Day’s lightweight and compact, Marine Life Sting First-Aid kit was mindfully developed with that at the forefront.
Just clip the bag to your beach equipment, backpack, kayak, sailboat, dive gear, or whatever’s convenient with the included swivel clip or buckle. Then go about your day knowing that your water-proof first-aid kit is there for you.
Refillable
A key consideration in making our Marine Life Sting First-Aid kit was sustainability. Our goal was to create an effective product with as little environmental impact as possible while providing excellent value. A single-use product, with disposable packaging, does not fit that criterion.
After you use the included Nematocyst Inhibitor, the bottle can be refilled with any white vinegar containing 5% acetic acid. Our Numbing Cream has been shown to last between 6 and 10 stings (depending upon the sting area size and amount of use). Game changer! I normally don’t leave product reviews but I had to reach out. A jellyfish sting threatened to derail my family’s short but needed vacation last fall. So glad I had this kit as it helped restore the good vibes ASAP.

You have an incredible product. Your kit gave my daughter immediate relief when she was stung by a jellyfish during our Caribbean cruise. Without this kit, we wouldn’t have been able to keep exploring our port destination. This first-aid kit should be offered on every cruise line!
